This is the 1st year for this race. The race director was Ernie Page of the Kernersville Parks and Recreation Department. The race was scored by OFF'N RUNNING (336-288-7071). There were 78 entries in the 5K. Of those 78 entrants, there were were 75 finishers - 41 male and 34 female. Awards were given to the top 2 male and female overall and nd, 2nd, 3rd in male and female age groups.
The temperature was in the 40's, partly cloudy and little wind.
The course was run as measured and the difference between the elevation of the start and finish lines is less than 1/meter per 1,000meters of race distance.
David Duggan of High Point won the men's race in a time of 16:57. Mary Beth Errington of Greensboro won the women's race in a time of 19:39.
Danielle Pepper age 10 was the ypungest finisher while the oldest finisher was Margaret Hagerty at 81 years young.
